Peter Zeihan

Peter Zeihan is one of these global geo-political strategists that has an interesting YouTube channel. Based on watching him, his main revenue source is giving speeches to companies and three-letter agencies. Unfortunately, this does seem to have clouded his judgement a little — if you tell the three-letter agencies things they don’t want to hear, they will stop inviting you back to the pig-trough.

Some things to note:

• Zeihan is all in on the Ukraine being 100% Putin’s fault (and to a great extent it is) and that the West is completely on the side of the angels (they aren’t). If you disagree, well, you’re just not as smart as he is (a little condensation covers a multitude of sins).
  • He dismisses NATO expansion as threatening Russia by explaining that NATO expanded (well, no-one was saying that hadn’t expanded). His argument is very analogous to dismissing the doctor’s advice that eating too much sugar gave you diabetes by explaining how you eat too much sugar.
  • He ignores the 2014 coup that the West supported against the democratically elected, pro-Russian Ukrainian president. (Whether the president should have been ousted is irrelevant — the West supported an undemocratic coup against a pro-Russian Ukrainian president).
• Zeihan takes swipes at Saudi Arabia being feudal and bribe based — which is why they get along with Trump. Implying that Trump was bribe based and corrupt. Of course Zeihan ignored the mountains of evidence that Biden is bought and paid for by the Chinese (if not others). But, the three-letter agencies are all in on Biden and anti-Trump, so we have to pay attention to which side the bread is buttered on.
