United Parcel Service (UPS) is Hideous

2022-07-19

How often do you read the fine print of the “terms and conditons” for websites? UPS has lost my package (I don’t know where it is, it’s now 5 days over due). Their website tells me I need to correct the address — but to even look at the address, let alone correct it, I have to sign up — and agree to their terms and conditions.

Their terms and conditions include that I will speak on behalf of my employer. Seriously? I have no authority to speak on behalf of my employer. Are you guys idiots? By the way, the address they had was correct — and there is no indication of where my package is.

The product I ordered was shipped in two packages. One arrived on time and I got a chance to chat with the driver. He indicated that the MBA geniuses at UPS decided to update to a new pre-loading system before the new one was ready. They ripped out the old system (that was working) and nothing was put in its place. He said he regularly has a misloaded truck because the MBA types thought it would be a good idea without actually asking the front line workers.

It will be interesting to see how long they can stay in business this way.
